Meronk Shares that Being Snubbed from Ryder Cup Likely Motivated him to join LIV

Adrian Meronk expressed his disappointment at not being chosen as captain for the Ryder Cup last year and admitted that this played a significant role in his decision to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit. Despite ranking ahead of Nicolai Højgaard in various metrics, including Europe’s Ryder Cup points list and the Official World Golf Ranking, Meronk was not selected for the team.

He described his emotions at hearing the news, expressing shock, sadness, and anger, and confirmed that he thought he had done enough to earn a spot on the team. Now, Meronk is two events into his LIV career as a member of the Cleeks. His debut was lackluster, with a 47th place finish out of 54 players at the season opener. Despite this setback, he remains hopeful about his future and still aspires to play in the Ryder Cup. He aims to work hard on his game and give his best performance in order to make the team again.
