Rémi Quirion, president of Ingsa, spoke to RPN ahead of the organization’s 10th anniversary conference in Rwanda. The International Network for Government Science Advice is set to meet in Rwanda this week to celebrate its first decade and discuss future plans for the organization.
This global conference will be the body’s fifth in-person event (sixth if you include a virtual conference held in 2020) and marks the first time it will be held in a Global South country. The conference provides an opportunity for members to come together, share knowledge, and collaborate on advancing science advice in government.
As a journalist, I had the chance to speak with Rémi Quirion about his thoughts on the upcoming event. “The Ingsa community has grown so much over the past decade,” he said. “We’ve seen incredible progress in government science advice and we’re excited to continue that momentum at our 10th anniversary conference.”
Quirion also emphasized the importance of bringing together members from around the world to discuss common challenges and opportunities. “By sharing our experiences and expertise, we can work together to advance science advice in governments around the world,” he said.
