Albemarle Business Center Advances to Second Round of Million-Dollar Grant Process – The Stanly News & Press

The Albemarle Business Center has been selected for a million-dollar grant program. This was announced at a recent meeting of the Stanly County Economic Development Commission by director Candice Lowder. The business center, located in the southern part of the city, is 282 acres and was chosen along with the Badin Business Park and the Bradley Industrial Site in Norwood.

Lindsey Almond, director of the Albemarle Economic Development Commission, expressed enthusiasm over the center’s selection. She emphasized the benefits of being selected for the grant program and highlighted how several documents that were already in place aided its selection. A site visit was conducted at the Albemarle Business Center in February by a potential company.

Meanwhile, Charles Curcio, who has been serving as sports editor at Stanly News & Press for over 16 years, received multiple awards for his work in sports journalism. He was named CNHI Sports Editor of the Year in 2014 and also won four North Carolina Press Association awards. Additionally, he received an award from Boone Newspapers during his distinguished career.
