Apple acknowledges iPhone’s disadvantage compared to top Android phones

Historically, Apple has been known for providing updates and support for a longer period compared to its competitors in the techno industry. While Android phones typically offered updates for two years, iPhones had a more mysterious update policy. However, recently Google and Samsung have started promising up to seven years of full cycle updates, challenging Apple’s traditional stance. In response to regulations in countries like the UK, Apple has confirmed a minimum support period of five years from the first date of supply for its iPhones.

At the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2024, Apple is set to unveil iOS 18, featuring generative artificial intelligence that aims to enhance the user experience. However, not all iPhone models will be able to fully utilize these new features due to hardware limitations. According to reports, only the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be able to take advantage of iOS 18’s AI capabilities.

Despite the minimum commitment periods set by manufacturers, it’s possible that Apple may continue to offer support beyond the specified timeframe. As technology continues to evolve, the competition among mobile phone manufacturers to provide the best updates and support to users intensifies.
