Four-star CB Donovan Starr commits to Auburn

Auburn football is determined to make a statement on the recruiting trail and gain national recognition. In recent years, the team has been successful in this endeavor, hosting several high-profile official visits that have resulted in a commitment from cornerback Donovan Starr from Brentwood, Tennessee.

Starr’s visit to Auburn took place from Tuesday to Thursday, and he made the decision to commit to the Tigers shortly after leaving campus. He chose Auburn over other schools such as Missouri, Clemson, Tennessee, and Illinois. The On3 industry ranking ranks Starr as the No. 385 player in the nation and the No. 36 cornerback in the 2025 class. Additionally, he is ranked as the No. 12 player in the state of Tennessee.

The Tigers now have three cornerback commits for their 2025 recruitment cycle: Devin Williams and Dante Core, both four-star recruits, joined Starr in the secondary. Cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff and defensive coordinator DJ Durkin played a significant role in Starr’s decision to choose Auburn.

With 12 commits for the 2025 class so far, Auburn ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC. The team continues to actively pursue more recruits as they build their roster for upcoming seasons.
