Investigation Underway by NBA Regarding Betting Anomalies Involving Toronto Raptors Player Jontay Porter

The NBA is currently investigating potential betting anomalies related to Jontay Porter, a player for the Toronto Raptors. Prop bets concerning Porter are being looked into by league spokesperson Tim Frank who told CNN that they are taking this matter very seriously. Porter has not played in the last two games due to personal reasons as stated by the team, and the Raptors have declined to comment on the situation. Meanwhile, DraftKings Sportsbook has flagged two specific games involving prop bets on Porter that were suspicious and reported them to the NBA.

On January 26, users betting the under on Porter’s three-pointers made the biggest money-makers for NBA player prop betting that day. Similarly, on March 20, Porter’s prop bettors were also the biggest winners of the day in NBA betting. In both cases, Porter exited the game early without attempting any shots or scoring any points.

Porter usually plays nearly 14 minutes per game but only logged four minutes on January 26 due to a reaggravation of an eye injury and did not attempt a shot. On March 20, he played just three minutes and scored zero points before leaving due to illness. DraftKings Sportsbook spokesperson declined to comment further but emphasized that legal and regulated sports betting helps identify and report suspicious activity while protecting the integrity of sports.
