President Joe Biden gave a speech at the 2024 National Association of Counties Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., where he boasted about his administration’s investment in American jobs and a strong economy. He also criticized his Republican rival, Donald Trump. The conference, which began on Friday and concludes on Tuesday, will feature other speakers such as Don Graves, deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and Rep. Marc Molinaro, R-N.Y.

The National Association of Counties is an organization owned by America’s county governments with oversight and governance by an executive committee and board of directors. It serves nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees. The conference brings together county officials from around the country to focus on federal policy issues affecting counties and residents.

About 2,000 elected and appointed county officials have gathered to engage in policy and educational sessions, interface with federal officials, and participate in congressional meetings according to the conference organizers. This conference is an opportunity for county officials to address federal policy issues that directly impact their communities.
