Baptist Health System Looking to Collect Donations for 10th Annual Cereal Drive: Healthy Over Hungry

Baptist Health System has partnered with the San Antonio Food Bank for the 10th annual Healthy Over Hungry Cereal Drive. The hospital system is urging the public to donate healthy cereal boxes at any of its five hospitals until Friday, June 14. This initiative is important as 35% of individuals served by the food bank are children who may struggle with food insecurity over the summer break when they no longer have access to school lunch programs.

Baptist Health System recognizes the significance of starting the day with a nutritious breakfast, and this drive is an extension of that effort. Matt Stone, Group CEO for Baptist Health System, expressed gratitude towards those who contribute to helping kids be Healthy Over Hungry® this summer. Last year, the hospital system collected almost 4,000 pounds of cereal, nearly double the amount from the previous year. Their goal this year is to surpass that number.

Donations of healthy cereal can be made at designated big red food bins located at five hospitals: Baptist Medical Center (Downtown), Mission Trail Baptist Hospital (Southside), Northeast Baptist Hospital (Off Loop 410 & Starcrest), North Central Baptist Hospital (Stone Oak), and St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital (Medical Center). Your support and generosity are appreciated in helping those in need during the summer months.
