Memorial Health System Presents Women’s History Month Panel Discussing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Memorial Health System in Gulfport, Mississippi marked the end of Women’s History Month with a significant discussion as part of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program. The panel discussion held on Tuesday morning focused on this year’s national theme of women advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Memorial staff and community members were invited to join the conversation at the hospital. The panel consisted of Chief Nursing Officer Mary Brobst, Director of Patient Financial Services Crystal Bowler, Healthcare Accreditation Coordinator Lucinda L’Enfant, and Family Nurse Practitioner Diane Edrington. This marked the third year that the panel was held and Rosetti expressed excitement about the program’s expansion.

During the discussion, Memorial Health System Communications Manager Erin Rosetti highlighted the impact of implicit bias and the importance of listening and understanding others’ experiences to create a healthier community and establish better relationships. It is through these conversations that we can work towards creating a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive.

The event was well-attended by both Memorial staff and members of the community who were eager to learn more about how they can contribute to creating a more diverse and equitable healthcare system. The panelists provided valuable insights into their own experiences as women in healthcare and shared tips for overcoming barriers and achieving success in this field.

In conclusion, Memorial Health System’s DEI program continues to be an important initiative for promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare. Through events like these, we can work together towards creating a more inclusive society where everyone has access to quality healthcare services regardless of their background or gender.
