Summer McIntosh Breaks World Record in 400m Individual Medley

Summer McIntosh made history at the 2024 Canadian Olympic Swimming Trials by setting a new world record in the 400m individual medley with a time of 4:24:38. This was nearly a second and a half faster than her previous world record set in Toronto during the 2023 trials. With this incredible performance, McIntosh has secured a nomination to swim the 400 IM at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

McIntosh expressed her excitement for Paris, stating that she is focused on enjoying the experience and working on her strategy and pacing for the event. She acknowledged the support of the crowd, noting that their energy and encouragement during the race played a significant role in her success.
