Boy Scouts honor Cayuga Health leader with Distinguished Citizen Award

Dr. Martin Stallone, CEO of Cayuga Health Systems, has been awarded the 2024 Distinguished Citizen Award by the local Baden-Powell Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Ithaca, New York. The award was presented to him at the Cayuga Health facility at the Shops at Ithaca Mall by Scout Executive Matthew Bull.

Stallone has made a significant impact on the local healthcare sector through his leadership of Cayuga Medical. Under his guidance, the organization has expanded its footprint and made healthcare more accessible in the area. His work has positively affected countless lives and earned him the highest honor bestowed upon individuals by the Boy Scouts of America.

Stallone expressed his pride in the work that Cayuga Health is doing to enhance the health of the community through partnerships with other organizations and investments in programs and facilities. He drew on his military service to emphasize the mission-oriented nature of Cayuga Health, the Department of Defense, and the Boy Scouts of America.

The Distinguished Citizen Award is a prestigious honor previously awarded to individuals like 2023 honoree Gary Stewart, Ithaca City School District Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown, and former United Way of Tompkins County leader James Brown. The award ceremony will take place on June 10, 2024, at Emerson Suites at Ithaca College to officially recognize Dr. Martin Stallone’s contributions to the community.
