Central High School’s baseball team emerged victorious over Penns Valley with a 19-9 win in six innings. The game saw Penns Valley score 9 runs on 7 hits, while Central scored 19 runs on 11 hits. Central’s offense was led by Jay Hoenstine, who had three hits and four RBIs, as well as Troy McNichol and Griffin Snowberger, who each contributed three hits and two RBIs. Mason Byler earned the win in relief and struck out four. This victory improved Central’s record to 2-0, while Penns Valley fell to 1-3.

In tennis news, the Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team remained undefeated at 5-0 after a close match against Altoona. The Golden Tigers claimed singles victories from Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel, as well as the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney. Altoona secured a singles win from Luke Mitchell and a doubles win from the team of Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer.
