NBC Sports reports Chargers have signed Ben Mason

Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers head coach, is set to reunite with one of his former Michigan players in his debut season back in the NFL. On Tuesday, the team officially signed fullback Ben Mason.

Mason, who played multiple positions during his time at Michigan, including tight end, defensive lineman and fullback, showcased his versatility over four years. He contributed significantly to the team by rushing 37 times for 87 yards and scoring nine touchdowns. Additionally, he caught a touchdown pass and made 14 tackles during his college career.

Despite being drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2021 draft, Mason was unable to secure a spot on the roster. He later had brief stints with the Patriots and Bears before returning to Baltimore and appearing in one game last season. Now with a fresh start with the Chargers, Mason will have the opportunity to continue his NFL journey under the guidance of his former college coach, Jim Harbaugh.
