Excitement Builds for NH Sports Bettors and Taylor Swift Fans Before Super Bowl LVIII

New Hampshire sports gamblers are heavily favoring the Kansas City Chiefs and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes over the Brock Purdy-led San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s Super Bowl. According to DraftKings, nearly 72% of wagers placed by New Hampshire gamblers as of Thursday were favoring the Chiefs, who are currently two-point underdogs as of Friday. The partnership between the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings has been successful in building strong betting momentum.

Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, expressed excitement about the opportunity that the Super Bowl provides for exploring the world of sports betting. He believes that there are many fun ways to get involved and is expecting heavy betting throughout the weekend and leading up to the game on Sunday. The state has a gambling monopoly with DraftKings which has introduced Taylor Swift-related bets to capitalize on her fan base known as “Swifties”. Swifties can make wagers related to her songs such as a “Déjà vu” bet, a “Shake it off” bet, and a “Today is a Fairytale” bet each with specific conditions and outcomes tied to the Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and 49ers.

Last year, when the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles, New Hampshire gamblers placed over $9.2 million in total wagers. DraftKings and the state share proceeds on sports wagering, with profits being used by the Lottery to fund public education. Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m this Sunday from Las Vegas.
