On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was downgraded to limited participation on the injury report. Despite this, head coach Andy Reid stated that there were no concerns about Rice’s availability for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
On Wednesday, Rice was listed as a full participant due to his ankle injury. During practice, Reid told pool reporter Peter King of NBC Sports that the rookie wideout got stepped on during a workout. After receiving treatment, Reid said he was not concerned about Rice’s condition.
Rice had a standout season during the regular season with 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. In the postseason, he has continued to be a significant contributor to the team’s success with 20 catches for 223 yards and a touchdown so far. With Reid expressing confidence in Rice’s ability to play, it seems likely that he will be ready to go for the upcoming matchup against the 49ers.
