China Dominates Night 1 with Two Medals

The 2024 World Aquatic Championships in Doha began with China leading the medal table. On Day 1, the Chinese men’s 4×100 free relay team captured gold, with Pan Zhanle setting a new World Record. Meanwhile, Li Bingjie won silver in the women’s 400 freestyle.

South Korea, the Netherlands, and New Zealand each have one gold medal. The Netherlands won the women’s 4×100 free relay, upsetting the Australians, and New Zealand’s Erika Fairweather won the women’s 400 freestyle in a new national record.
