In a matter of days, the 2024 Cricket World Cup will take place in Nassau County, Long Island. Officials have scheduled a briefing for Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from Nassau County police headquarters in Mineola, which can be viewed through the CBS News New York live stream.

The warm-up matches for the tournament began this past weekend, marking the first time ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World matches will be played in the United States. Eight matches will be held at the new Nassau County International Cricket Stadium at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The first match is set to take place on Saturday, June 1st at 10:30 a.m., where Bangladesh faces India. The first regular match is set for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3rd, with South Africa playing against Sri Lanka.
