CSI Softball Heads to Third Consecutive World Series

The College of Southern Idaho softball team has qualified for the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series for the third year in a row. They were announced as the No. 9 seed during the NJCAA Selection Show on Tuesday. Their first matchup will be against No. 8 Chattanooga State, who finished the season with a record of 45-14 and are currently on a hot streak with 14 straight wins.

Chattanooga State is sure to be a formidable opponent for the Golden Eagles, who are one of only four at-large teams in the tournament this year. This marks the first time that the NJCAA has extended bids to teams outside of automatic qualifiers. Despite finishing as District 18 runners-up to Salt Lake Community College, CSI closed out their season with an impressive record of 46-14.

The game between CSI and Chattanooga State is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. Mountain Time at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. Both teams will be eager to make a statement in the tournament and it promises to be an exciting matchup for fans and players alike.
