Spam Calls Warning Issued by Deschutes County Environmental Health, Including Sales Pitches for Vacuum Cleaners

Deschutes County Environmental Health department has recently received numerous spam phone calls targeting community members. These calls are being made to appear as if they are coming from the county by “spoofing” the Environmental Health main phone number. Some recipients of these calls have reported being asked to purchase a vacuum cleaner.

The Deschutes County Environmental Health department is urging residents to be cautious and never share personal identifying information with a caller that they have not initiated contact with or verified as legitimate. If anyone has been a victim of this or a similar scam and has suffered a financial loss, they are encouraged to contact Deschutes County non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
