Arkana Ceca, a criminal turned singer and widow of a war criminal, refused to give up: ‘He protected Serbia…’

Ceca, the widow of war criminal Zcaronjko Ražnatovi Arkan, has announced a concert in Maribor, Croatia in March. Posters promoting the event have been pasted around Zagreb, sparking controversy among citizens. However, three young people were caught on camera destroying these posters in Lanište and Dubrava, causing further outrage.

Svetlana Ražnatović, better known as Ceca, was born in Prokuplje, Serbia in 1973 and is considered one of the most famous Serbian singers of all time. She gained recognition after marrying war criminal Zcarongeljko Razcaronatovi Arkan, the commander of Serbian paramilitary units. Despite facing accusations and legal issues involving crimes of genocide against Bosniaks, crimes against humanity and grave violations of the Geneva Convention, Ceca continued to perform and amass a large following.

In a recent interview with journalists, Ceca shared her experiences with negative publicity and her plans to avoid Croatia altogether. She also discussed her married life with Arkan and the attempts made to assassinate him. Despite this difficult past, she remains adamant that music transcends politics and borders.
