U.S. Airports Fail to Make Top Rankings Globally

In 2024, the Skytrax World Airport Awards have been released and Doha Hamad International Airport has been named the best airport in the world. This is the third time in a row that this airport has held the title. Singapore Changi Airport, which had previously been ranked number one, has slipped to second place, followed by Incheon International Airport in Seoul.

Despite having some of the busiest airports in the world, such as Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the United States did not perform well in the rankings. No U.S. airport made it into the top 20, with Seattle-Tacoma International Airport being the highest-ranking at number 24. New York’s LaGuardia Airport and JFK International Airport were ranked at numbers 33 and 93 respectively.

However, two U.S. airports were recognized for other achievements. Newark Liberty International Airport was awarded for having the best new terminal, while Houston’s airports won for having the best airport art award.
