Marcus Maye reaches a deal with the Miami Dolphins

Marcus Maye, a free agent safety, has signed with the Dolphins according to Jordan Schultz. The 31-year-old has been without a team since being released by the Saints earlier this year. Despite signing a lucrative contract with New Orleans in 2022, he struggled with injuries and missed as many games as he played in two seasons, which included a suspension.

Maye spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Jets after being drafted in the second round in 2017. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 409 tackles, eight interceptions, 28 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, and 4.5 sacks in 77 games. The Dolphins have bolstered their secondary during the offseason by adding cornerback Kendall Fuller and safety Jordan Poyer. Now, with the addition of Maye, they have strengthened their depth in the defensive backfield. This move shows the team’s commitment to improving their defense and will provide valuable experience and leadership to the team.
