Participants for Friday’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur are now confirmed.

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur participants will have a special treat this year as they can play a twilight nine on the club’s Par 3 Course after completing their practice round. This marks the first time in the championship’s five-year history that competitors will have the opportunity to play the short course.

Anna Davis, who is entering her third Augusta National Women’s Amateur fresh off her best finish of her young college career, is excited about this new addition to the tournament. Last year, she and Megha Ganne and Amari Avery participated in a closest-to-the-hole challenge on the Par 3 Course’s ninth hole for a video for the championship’s website and social channels.

“I think that’ll be really fun,” said Auburn’s Megan Schofill, who won last year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. “It’s just great for everyone to keep seeing different parts of Augusta National. The property is so big, so I know everyone is looking forward to doing that.”

The Par 3 Course has hosted the annual Par 3 Contest on Masters week since 1960 and underwent a thorough renovation before last year’s tournament. Hole Nos. 1-5 were rerouted, and several trees were removed to improve patron walkways and viewing areas. This opportunity allows competitors to experience and appreciate different aspects of Augusta National Golf Club.

Overall, this new addition to the tournament promises to be an exciting experience for all participants and spectators alike.
