University Times hosts mental health event addressing trauma from global events

Diana Hortsch, a licensed therapist, lawyer, and adjunct faculty member at Brooklyn Law School, has spent two decades working in reproductive and human rights advocacy. In her upcoming webinar, she will explore the different types of trauma that individuals may be experiencing from global events such as war, climate change, and economic upheaval. Additionally, she will discuss how individuals can effectively manage the effects of this trauma on their mental and physical health.

The Mental Wellness Task Force has announced that it will be resuming its Lunch and Learn Speaker Series via Zoom, marking the first time since the pandemic began. The first program is scheduled for noon to 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 14 and will feature Diana Hortsch discussing “Managing Trauma from World Events.” Those interested can follow the registration link to obtain the Zoom information.

As part of the Senate Benefits and Welfare committee, The Mental Wellness Task Force is dedicated to promoting mental well-being and providing valuable resources for individuals to support their mental health.
