An industrial business on 138 Lomita Street in El Segundo, California was engulfed in flames around 5:40 p.m. on Friday. Firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire and used aerial ladders to position above the building with hoses to try and extinguish the blaze. However, initial efforts were unsuccessful as the flames appeared resistant.
Firefighters continued to drop massive amounts of water through a hole in the roof in an attempt to put out the fire. There were no immediate reports of injuries. The location is situated just a few blocks from the shoreline and is close to the Chevron refinery, Raytheon, and approximately 1-2 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport.
The business at the address may be involved in glass and mirror work, according to records. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. Copyright © 2024 KABC Television, LLC. All rights reserved.
