Panthers to sign UFL WR Daewood Davis

The Panthers have announced that they will be signing UFL receiver Daewood Davis to their roster. Davis had an impressive season in the UFL, earning All-UFL honors after catching 41 passes for 446 yards and five touchdowns on 70 targets in 10 games with the Memphis Showboats this past spring. Prior to his time in the UFL, Davis played college football at Oregon from 2017-20 and then at Western Kentucky in 2021-22, but he went undrafted in 2023.

Despite not being drafted, Davis was determined to make it to the NFL and signed with the Dolphins as a college free agent. However, during a preseason game against the Jaguars in August, he suffered head and neck injuries that required him to be taken to the hospital. The game was suspended following Davis’ injury, and he was later waived by the Dolphins during training camp.

Despite this setback, Davis has now become the first UFL player to sign with an NFL team as the Panthers have added him to their roster. It will be interesting to see how Davis transitions to the NFL and if he can continue his success at the next level.
