M-Sport Ford team principal Richard Millener has addressed rumors of a possible return of Sébastien Loeb to the squad, stating that it is not where the team’s focus lies in 2024. Despite Loeb’s past success with the British squad, including a win at the Monte Carlo Rally in 2022, Millener dismissed any speculation of a Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid outing for the nine-time world champion in Portugal.
In an interview with DirtFish, Millener emphasized that while working with a legend like Loeb would be a great opportunity, there are no plans for his return at this time. Instead, the team’s program for the season is centered around drivers Adrien Fourmaux and Grégoire Munster. M-Sport’s focus for this year is on running two factory Pumas, with the only potential change being the addition of a customer car alongside them.
According to Millener, while working with Loeb would be an honor and a privilege, it is not what he and his team are currently focusing on. The team’s main priority is to run its two factory Pumas and continue to compete at the highest level in rally racing. Any potential changes to this program would only come if a customer expresses interest in running a car alongside the team’s entries. For now, M-Sport Ford remains focused on its current drivers and its plans for the season ahead.
