Ex-UGA wide receiver inks deal with the Browns

In the NFL, former Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Matt Landers has officially signed with the Cleveland Browns. Landers, who previously played briefly in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas, stands at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. Despite his impressive physical abilities, Landers struggled to translate that potential into on-field production during his college career.

During the 2023 combine, Landers showcased his remarkable athletic prowess by running a 4.37 40-yard dash. However, he faced challenges throughout his time at Georgia from 2017 to 2020, seeing limited playing time but managing to make an impact in the 2019 season with ten catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Unfortunately, Landers’ role diminished in his final year at Georgia, leading him to transfer to Toledo for the following season. In his lone year with the Rockets, he displayed more potential by recording 20 catches for 514 yards and five touchdowns. He then used his final year of eligibility to play for Arkansas, where he excelled and led the Razorbacks in receiving with 47 catches for 901 yards and eight touchdowns during his best collegiate season.

This exciting news was originally reported by UGA Wire, highlighting Landers’ journey from college football to professional ranks in the NFL.
