Vermont Green FC’s strong first half performance against Carolina Core was not enough to keep them from losing 2-1 in the US Open Cup. In the first half, Vermont Green took the lead when Yaniv Bazini successfully converted a penalty in the 28th minute. Goalkeeper Nathan Schnur made five important saves to keep his team ahead, but Carolina Core fought back in the second half.

Despite having several opportunities to equalize, Vermont Green FC was unable to do so, resulting in a 2-1 defeat. After the game, head coach Adam Pfeifer expressed his appreciation for the support from the fans and the community. Despite the loss, he commended his team’s effort against a strong opponent and acknowledged the challenges they faced.

Vermont Green will now shift their focus to the upcoming USL2 campaign, which begins on May 18th against Boston City. The team will have some time to regroup and prepare for the new season following their exit from the US Open Cup.
