Latvian broker charged in US for exporting aircraft technology to Russia

A Latvian national, Oleg Chistyakov, was arrested in Riga and charged by the US for several offenses, including violating the Export Control Reform Act. According to a press release and indictment, Chistyakov is accused of collaborating with two US citizens to facilitate the sale of US avionics equipment to customers in Russia. Buyanovsky, his co-conspirator, had already pleaded guilty to the same conspiracy in December 2023.
