The local organising committee for the upcoming XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals has released a promotional video to get people excited about the event. The video showcases stunning images from Friuli Venezia Giulia and includes a welcoming message from Massimiliano Fedriga, the president of the region.
The tournament will take place at Stadio Comunale in Castions di Strada, Italy, from 15 to 21 July. Four games are scheduled each day during this time period. Tickets are available for purchase.
Fedriga expressed his excitement and readiness to welcome all attendees to the championship in his welcoming message. He hoped that the tournament would not only crown champions on the field but also strengthen bonds between people across borders and cultures.
Following the Group Stage in 2023, eight teams made it to the Finals and have been divided into two groups: Group A, which includes teams such as USA, Canada, Italy, and China, and Group B featuring Japan, Puerto Rico, Netherlands and Australia.
Italy is thrilled to be hosting this significant event for the first time in its history. Europe has previously hosted the Women’s Softball World Cup once before with Netherlands organizing it in 2014. Last year Ireland and Spain also joined Italy as hosts of the Group Stage.
