Jordan Love is confident that he will have a contract extension before training camp begins

The Green Bay Packers have been keeping a close eye on their star quarterback Jordan Love as they prepare for his upcoming contract extension. In a recent interview, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst emphasized the importance of finalizing Love’s deal before training camp begins in July. He stated that both sides are motivated to get it done and that talks would likely intensify after the conclusion of this week’s offseason program.

Love himself has also expressed his expectations, stating that he has been kept informed by his agent about the progress of negotiations. He anticipates that discussions will escalate after the offseason program ends and that the Packers are willing to compensate him accordingly for his impressive performance last season. Love signed an extension worth $8.789 million last May, which increased his annual pay to $13.5 million.

The Packers view Love as a capable long-term successor to Aaron Rodgers and are willing to invest in him for years to come. His potential deal could be modeled after Jared Goff’s recent extension with the Lions, which averages $53 million per year in pay. With training camp just around the corner, both sides are focused on reaching a mutually beneficial agreement so that Love can continue to thrive on the field for the Packers.
