Connecticut and Purdue shake up college basketball poll rankings

In the latest men’s basketball rankings from USA TODAY Sports, the top two teams have remained largely unchanged. Connecticut and Purdue continue to impress with their dominating performances, holding on to the first and second positions respectively. Both teams have received a significant number of No. 1 votes for their outstanding play.

In the No. 3 spot, Houston has climbed back into the rankings after a strong week of play. The next four spots are closely contested, with just 12 poll points separating Marquette, North Carolina, Arizona, and Kansas. Marquette has made an impressive leap up to fourth place following their recent successes, while North Carolina has slipped to fifth after a loss to Clemson.

Arizona and Kansas have also seen some movement in the rankings, with Arizona moving up to sixth and Kansas dropping down to seventh position. The top ten is rounded out by Duke, Tennessee, and Iowa State. South Carolina is making a strong case for inclusion in the top ten after jumping nine places in one week, while Kentucky and Wisconsin have been moving in opposite directions after losses earlier in the season.

Indiana State has made a notable entrance into the poll at No. 24, marking their return to the top 25 since their historic 1979 season. Saint Mary’s, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado State have regained positions in the rankings as well among recent dropouts such as Utah State, San Diego State
