Pictures show Indian cricket team starting preparations in New York for 2024 T20 World Cup

The Indian cricket team has begun preparing for the ICC 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA and the West Indies starting from June 2. A group of players, including captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and head coach Rahul Dravid, have already arrived in New York and started their training sessions.

Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav took to social media to share pictures of the team jogging and training as they strive to get into peak condition for the tournament. India is placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, USA, Ireland, and Canada, with their first match against Ireland scheduled for June 5 in New York.

Prior to the main event, India will play a warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1. In the previous T20 World Cup held in Australia in 2021, India was eliminated in the semi-finals by England, who went on to win the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final.

However, India’s only T20 World Cup victory came in 2007 under MS Dhoni’s leadership when they defeated Pakistan in the final. The current squad is determined to replicate that success and bring home the trophy once again.
