Contestants from various localities gathered in Hanoi to attend the 2024 Science Innovation Contest and Young Scientists Conference on May 16. Teams from provinces and cities across the country arrived in Hanoi starting the afternoon of May 15. Many authors expressed their excitement and nerves upon receiving an invitation to attend the award ceremony.

Among the participants was Thuy Son Nang from Quang Nam, competing with highland warm water stove products. Engineer Duong Quang Kieu, representing Thuy Son Nang, shared his hopes of winning an award to spread their product to the community. As a scientist at Polytechnic University, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Quan highlighted the importance of this contest in providing a platform for teams with products serving society to showcase their work.

The Green Concrete team from the University of Mining and Geology, led by Dr. Tang Van Lam, also expressed their enthusiasm for participating in this competition and interacting with professional jury panel members. They hoped to introduce their product to scientists and investors for further development and commercialization.

On May 16, the 2024 Scientific Innovation Award ceremony took place at the Ministry of Science and Technology headquarters in Hanoi, coinciding with the Young Scientist Summit on “Young scientists and creative startups” as part of Vietnam Science and Technology Day celebrations and the Ministry’s 65th anniversary. The Creative Science Contest (CSC) is an annual event organized by VnExpress newspaper that provides a platform for science and technology enthusiasts to showcase their ideas and products. This year’s CSC received 135 applications, with 124 valid entries, promoting innovation in science and technology development.

The prize structure for this contest includes a special prize of 100 million VND, first prize of 70 million VND, second prize of 50 million VND, third prize of 30 million VND, two consolation prizes worth 10 million VND each, as well as an initiative category recognizing special products or initiatives that serve people in remote areas with a value of 30 million VND sponsored by Hope Foundation.

The online reporting on VnExpress highlighted achievements made during this event while promoting technology application support for individuals’ development through science innovation.
