Inter’s Barella signs contract extension through 2029

Italian international Nicolo Barella has announced that he will extend his contract with Inter Milan until 2029. This news comes after Barella helped the club win the 2024 Serie A title on April 22.

Barella expressed his joy and gratitude for the opportunity to continue playing for Inter, stating on the club’s website, “I am extremely happy and moved to extend my contract with Inter for a number of years. I am truly proud to be able to keep fighting for the colors of this great Club.” He also spoke about his belief in the project and his eagerness to sign before the upcoming European tournament.

Despite missing Italy’s first training session due to a muscle issue from a recent friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, Barella is expected to start for Italy in their opening match against Albania on June 15. He was a key player for Inter under coach Simone Inzaghi during last season, helping them clinch the Serie A title with an impressive 94 points from 38 matches.

Throughout his time at Inter Milan, Barella has accumulated 235 appearances and won two Scudettos and two Italian cups. With this new contract extension, he looks forward to continuing his successful career at one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
