Ursus Works Towards June Agreement for Stellantis Board

The ongoing dialogue between the Government, local authorities, Stellantis, and unions regarding the future of individual production sites in Italy is focused on reconversion in the transition to electric mobility. The goal is to produce 1 million cars a year in Italy, with an increasing number of green vehicles. The government is also hopeful for the arrival of a second car manufacturer in the country.

While progress is being made in the discussions, Business Minister Adolfo Urso believes that there are still some issues that need to be resolved before reaching a conclusion with Stellantis. He states that they are on the right path to close the discussions with Stellantis that began in December with a development agreement. However, he notes that there are still details to be worked out, particularly with regards to safety concerns raised by the unions.

The unions have met with Stellantis’ management to discuss these concerns and ensure that the factories are secure. They are requesting a meeting at Palazzo Chigi to finalize the agreement at the highest level and secure their members’ jobs for the future of automotive production in Italy. While there is some uncertainty from both parties about how things will proceed, there is a sense of optimism about finding common ground and achieving their goals.
