High-tech employee’s heart attack during connection flights deemed work-related injury

Judge Ariela Gilzer-Katz of the Tel Aviv Labor Court ordered a medical expert to examine the causal connection between the plaintiff’s heart attack and his frequent work flights. The expert confirmed the connection and recognized the heart attack as a work accident. Despite initially rejecting the claim, citing pre-existing heart problems and lack of medical treatment during travel, the National Insurance Institute eventually acknowledged that such rulings can occur and respected the court’s decision. The plaintiff received financial compensation for his work-related heart attack.
