Expecting Mother Leaves Infant at Lomita Establishment

A baby was left abandoned by a pregnant woman at a store in Lomita, California. The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when employees of the store contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Witnesses reported that an unidentified woman entered the store with the baby in her arms and requested a taxi while she used the restroom.

While an employee arranged for the taxi, the woman placed the infant in a shopping cart and went to use the restroom again. When the taxi arrived, she got up and left the store without taking care of her baby. She then got into a taxi and drove away to an unknown location. Deputies arrived at the store around 5:00 p.m., took custody of the abandoned child, and handed it over to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The baby is estimated to be between seven and nine months old.

This shocking incident has caused concern among members of the community who want to ensure that babies are safe and well-cared for in all situations. Los Angeles County authorities have asked anyone with information about this case to contact them at their local sheriff’s station or through LA Crime Stoppers, where they can provide anonymous tips.
