The UFL’s Coach of the Year is Mike Nolan

Mike Nolan, a former head coach of the 49ers from 2005 through 2008, has been coaching the Michigan Panthers for the past two years. Recently, he was named the first UFL coach of the year. Despite finishing with a record of 4-7 in their final season in the USFL, the Panthers showed significant improvement in 2024, ending the season with a record of 7-3.

During the season, the Panthers demonstrated strength in both offense and defense, finishing third in both categories. They had the number one rushing defense and the second-ranked rushing offense in the league. At one point in the season, they had a winning streak of five games, showcasing their potential for success.

Despite losing to Birmingham during the regular season finale, the Panthers are gearing up to face off against Alabama’s Stallions for a chance to secure a spot in UFL Championship. The winner of this match will then go on to face off against San Antonio or St. Louis’ victor for championship honors.
