The Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight Officially Sanctioned by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations

The upcoming boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has been officially sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. This was announced by Most Valuable Promotions. The heavyweight bout will be contested over eight rounds of two minutes each, with both fighters wearing 14-ounce gloves instead of the 8 or 10 ounces commonly seen in professional matches.

In addition to the Tyson-Paul fight, there will also be a co-feature between unified featherweight champion Amanda Serrano and super lightweight champion Katie Taylor. This rematch will mark the first women’s main event at Madison Square Garden. Both fights will be streaming live on Netflix.

Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian expressed gratitude for meeting the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations to sanction the Tyson-Paul fight. Tyson, now 57, was the youngest heavyweight titleholder in history and owned the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles simultaneously. His opponent, Paul, gained fame on YouTube before transitioning to professional boxing in 2020. Paul has also made it to Forbes’s list of highest-paid athletes for his boxing matches, with estimated earnings of $38 million. He has a large following on social media platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
