Monarch Landing, a continuing care retirement community in Naperville, IL, has recently introduced Monarch at Home, a home health program. The Director of Monarch at Home, Mychelle Benton, stated that this service is designed specifically for the independent living residents who need assistance and wish to remain in their apartments.
Monarch at Home offers traditional services to residents through outside agencies. However, with the help of this program, residents can stay in their units longer. The program is unique because it provides visits lasting only 15 minutes or so as opposed to one-hour increments offered by outside agencies. This means that residents can save money while receiving the same level of care.
According to Associate Executive Director Kelli Cox, Monarch at Home can provide assistance to one spouse so that they can remain with their husband or wife in independent living longer. The program also includes care companions who will assist residents with outings, personal care, domestic chores, and other tasks they may need help with. Additionally, there is always a nurse available to coordinate medications and provide wound care if necessary.
Caregiver companions are carefully matched with residents to ensure a good fit. All staff members of Monarch Landing undergo thorough background checks and follow rigorous guidelines before being hired for the position.
Monarch Landing is owned and managed by Harrison-based Senior Care Development and is an equity partner with Life Care Services. Other Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) have expanded their offerings to include home care as well.
Overall, Monarch at Home provides independent living residents with the opportunity to receive additional support while remaining in their own homes for longer periods of time. With its unique services and dedication to providing quality care for its residents, Monarch Landing continues to be a leading provider of retirement living solutions in Naperville and beyond.
