Museum of Science and Industry will be closed on Wednesday for relocation of military artifacts

The Museum of Science and Industry has announced that it will be closed on Wednesday for the purpose of relocating military artifacts from archival storage. Initially, the closure was described as “unplanned maintenance,” but officials later clarified that it was necessary to ensure safe and proper removal of the artifacts.

On-site were specially trained military personnel and local officials who oversaw the process. However, details about the specific type or number of artifacts being moved were not provided by museum spokesperson Kelsey Ryan. She did say that safety was a top priority during the move, though.

The relocation was done on short notice due to scheduling conflicts and availability of officials. Despite this, Ryan assured visitors that the museum would reopen on Thursday for regular hours as planned. Ticket holders for Wednesday can receive a refund or rebook their tickets by calling 773-684-1414. The museum apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and relocation of the artifacts.
