Gas supply suspended at service stations and industries in Córdoba and Santa Fe

In response to increased natural gas consumption due to low temperatures, distributors in Córdoba and Santa Fe have made the decision to interrupt gas sales at CNG stations and restrict its use in industries in both provinces. This decision was made due to technical issues with two compressor plants owned by Transportadora de Gas del Norte (TGN) in San Luis and Chaján, affecting the normal supply of natural gas in the region.

Andres Romagnoli, Manager of Communication and Institutional Relations at Coast Gas, explained that the gas supplier informed them of the problems with the compressor plants, resulting in challenges in the supply of natural gas. This situation has prompted the request for CNG stations and industries in the area to limit their consumption during peak hours to ensure a steady supply for home consumption until the compressor plants are back in operation.

The distributor in Córdoba, Ecogas, issued a directive to the province’s CNG dispensers to completely suspend sales until further notice. This measure aims to prioritize home consumption and ensure that the necessary supply is maintained during the cold days when consumption is higher. Failure to comply with this directive may result in fines and penalties for the vendors.
