Wyatt Davis signed by Browns, Jayden Peevy released

The Browns announced a roster move on Friday as they signed offensive guard Wyatt Davis. To make room for Davis, the team waived defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. Davis, a fourth-year player from Ohio State, was originally drafted by the Vikings in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Since then, he has played in nine career games with the Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Cardinals. Last season, he spent time on injured reserve with the Giants and comes from a football family as his grandfather is Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis.

Jayden Peevy had signed a futures contract with the Browns after last season but was waived to make room for Davis. Peevy entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2022 and has appeared in two career games for them. He spent the 2023 season on both the Titans’ and Panthers’ practice squads before joining the Browns.
