Heads of Education Departments in Local Authorities Sign Collective Labor Agreement

The Ministry of Finance, the Center for Local Government, and the teachers’ union have reached an agreement with heads of education departments in municipalities on a new collective labor agreement. This deal includes a salary increase of NIS 866 retroactively from January 2024, with further increases of 3.8% in two installments in January 2025 and January 2026. In addition to this, a one-time bonus of NIS 6,000 will be given in two installments in July 2024 and January 2025.

Under this agreement, the conditions for heads of departments of kindergartens and heads of departments of special education will be equalized with those of heads of departments in primary and secondary school education. This move will help ensure fairness and consistency across all levels of education administration.

This new collective labor agreement is a positive step towards supporting and valuing education professionals in municipal departments. By providing salary increases, bonuses, and equalizing conditions, the agreement recognizes the important work done by heads of education departments and aims to improve their overall working conditions.
