Davis Baker joins WSFA as new sports reporter

We are thrilled to welcome our newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the WSFA 12 News team. Baker comes from KTEN in Denison, Texas where he served as the sports director for two years. During his time at KTEN, he was the weeknight sports anchor, covering local and regional sports news in north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Additionally, he produced and hosted feature shows and football previews.

Originally from Georgia, Baker graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism. Prior to his time at KTEN, he interned at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia and wrote for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Georgia, focusing on UGA sports. With a passion for SEC sports, Baker is eager to highlight high school, college and professional athletes in Alabama.

Baker expressed his excitement about joining the WSFA team and working alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director. Langello shared her enthusiasm about the new partnership too. She said that Baker’s reputation as a hard worker with a positive attitude made him a standout candidate among other applicants for the position. Langello believes that Baker will be an asset to the team due to his experience as a former sports director. She is excited about his involvement in the community and his dedication to covering sports teams in the area.
