100th anniversary celebrated as Giants reveal new alternate uniforms

In celebration of their 100th anniversary, the Giants are introducing an alternate uniform this season. The team recently unveiled the “Century Red” look, which is a significant departure from the modern era uniforms fans are used to seeing. The red jerseys feature a blue midsection underneath white numbers, along with a special 100th season patch on the upper left.

The Giants are paying homage to their past by reintroducing a throwback uniform that was last worn in 1933 when they made it to the first NFL Championship Game. To complete the ensemble, the team will also be sporting tan pants with red and blue striped accents that pay homage to their 1925 uniforms.

In addition to the throwback jerseys, the Giants will be donning alternate helmets that mirror the winged helmets famously associated with Michigan, albeit in red and blue colors instead of maize and blue. This style is reminiscent of the look the team sported during the 1938 season with leather helmets.

The Giants plan on wearing these throwback uniforms for up to two games this season, and it’s safe to say that the unconventional appearance will generate strong reactions from fans and spectators alike whenever the team takes the field in them.
