Report: Andrew Siciliano and other faces of ‘NFL Red Zone’ let go from NFL Network

NFL Network, the official network of the National Football League, has recently announced some changes to its on-air personalities. Andrew Siciliano, Melissa Stark, James Palmer, and Will Selva have been released from their positions at the network. While an NFL Network spokesperson did not confirm the specific names of those affected, they did state that cuts were being made as part of an evaluation of talent for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond.

Among those let go is Andrew Siciliano, a well-known anchor who previously hosted the “Red Zone Channel” on DirecTV. Melissa Stark, James Palmer, and Will Selva, all popular personalities on NFL Network, have also been released. They have each made significant contributions to the network in their respective roles as an analyst, sideline reporter, news analyst, and morning show anchor.

The decision to release these on-air personalities comes as NFL Network seeks to make cost-cutting efforts despite its direct affiliation with the highly profitable NFL. This move may be part of a broader strategy to increase the network’s appeal especially in light of potential equity swap discussions with ESPN. Earlier this year there were reports that the NFL and ESPN were in talks for ESPN to acquire an equity stake in NFL Network which could shift control of the network and other NFL Media assets to ESPN. However updates on the status of this potential deal have not been provided since then initial report.
