Throughout the day, students in our elementary schools had special guests visit their classrooms to read aloud to them.
World Read Aloud Day is an opportunity to highlight the importance of literacy and to encourage a love for reading among students. By promoting reading aloud, NLISD is committed to enhancing language development, improving comprehension skills, and fostering critical thinking abilities among its students. The goal is to instill a lifelong appreciation for literature and the power of storytelling.
The special guests who visited NLISD classrooms were passionate readers who shared their love for literature with the students. They read a variety of books from different genres and cultures, exposing students to diverse perspectives and experiences. The students were thrilled to have these visitors in their classrooms and eagerly listened as they were read aloud to.
NLISD believes that reading aloud has numerous benefits for students. It helps improve listening skills, vocabulary development, and confidence in public speaking. Additionally, it promotes empathy by allowing students to see the world through different eyes.
